  • From 1st July 2003, all the materials sold in the European
community to be used in an explosive atmosphere must meet the
requirements of European Directive ATEX 94/9/CE.
    (ATEX : Explosive Atmosphere)

    Directive application area:

This covers all types of equipment, be it electrical, mechanical,
    hydraulic or pneumatic.
It concerns explosive atmospheres formed by gas, vapours
    and combustible dust.
Conformity evaluation procedures depend on the type of material
and the area at risk of explosion where it is to be used.
For some device categories, it requires a control quality
assurance audit of the manufacturer by a certified body.
